Day 23: One rejection

Will: At around 6am, I was discharging a patient from the ER back to a halfway house when she told me that she was quite hungry. I went up to the charge nurse at the front desk and asked her for a sandwich. She gave me the old ‘get tha fuck away from mah desk before I tear you a new one’ look before I decided the best move was to just put my patient in my ambulance and giver her half of my sandwich.

Gil: While in line at Safeway, I couldn’t help but notice the lady behind me was flipping through The National Enquirer. “Can I buy that for you?” I asked her. “Haha, oh no!” she replied.
