By the book is the only way it can be done. Anything other than that is not legitimate. It’s that simple.
A conviction by the Senate will, correctly, remove him from office.
If Mr. Trump is convicted of a crime by a jury in a legal trial then he should be sentenced accordingly. If the presiding Judge sentences him to prison then so be it.
Mr. Trump said he reimbursed Cohen from his own funds. How that occurred is irrelevant, so long as the money did not come from campaign funds.
“Compelling evidence” is sufficient to have an investigation, perhaps a trial and perhaps a conviction. If an investigation produces additional evidence that would be called “additional evidence” to be weighed by a jury or the Senate, as the case may be.
My information didn’t come from either Fox News or Breitbart. Where is your information coming from? Mr. Mueller’s political affiliation is not in question. The make-up of the investigation team isn’t either, really. Can you produce verifiable contradictory evidence?
Mr. Trump’s intent when he encouraged investigations of Biden is questionable. He needs to be held to account. I still maintain that his intent was to encourage an investigation into interference in the election of 2016 by actors from both countries. I don’t believe Mr. Trump has any concern from a Biden candidacy, polls notwithstanding. It’s being represented as his asking to “find dirt” on Biden, but that’s not what he said. He asked for an investigation, based upon previous, verified, questionable activity by members of the Obama administration and the Democrat National Committee.
You have your opinion; I have mine. Time will tell.
If China is not opposed by the U.S. it’s unlikely that anyone will oppose them. China relies upon its exports to the U.S. to fuel it’s economy. The rest of the world can’t nearly replace the volume of trade from the U.S. It is not an exaggeration to say we have paid for their expansion, and continue to do so. Add to that their theft of our advanced technology and the manipulation of their currency on the world market and their growth has been immense, though the growth rate has been reduced for about a year. A number of international businesses are reportedly looking at other locations.
There is a growing body of evidence that they have tried, and continue to try to hack into our military, government and infrastructure computer systems. If that is shown, conclusively, to be true it could very well be construed as an act of war.
You are right that we cannot do it alone. I don’t agree that our allies are so disillusioned with the U.S. that they will not come around if they see their survival as sovereigns is in jeopardy. What Mr. Trump has done is confront our allies with the truth. They have not met their agreed upon NATO contributions, knowing that the U.S. would not stand by and allow NATO to wither. They have tarriffed our products going there, while we have not responded in kind. Mr. Trump has called them on both those issues. They may not like it, but they can’t deny the truth of it. Hopefully, future administrations will continue to hold them accountable.
