They say there are no stupid questions

But there are definitely stupid people asking lots and lots of questions.

Remember when your teachers always said “There are no stupid questions” to get their students involved and start a discussion? In the back of my mind I always disliked that statement because in all honesty there are lots of stupid questions out there. I’m not talking about “Why is the sky blue?” kinds of questions, but the questions that you (and I) may be faced with each day.

People say it isn't polite to call someone stupid or point out their lack of intelligence, but if we are going to get better as a human being, we need people to point out when questions are stupid. We can politely do it of course, but being polite has yet to work in the 20+ years I have been working a full-time job.

Solution: We need better education, funding for said education and the insistence that being stupid, refusing to learn and acting like a complete moron is socially unacceptable.

Stop making stupid people famous.
