Goodbye 2017

…you will not be forgotten

cartoon by Ajie Mandiri

To say that this last year has been tumultuous would be a tragic understatement. We all have witnessed things that never should have been repeated, yet somehow, they have.

Its been heartbreaking to see humanity being violated on so many fronts.

There is something truly wrong with America. It is a sick land, full of narcissistic behavior, which has been brought to the forefront by our so called president.

Children and seniors will lose their medical coverages. Those who were promised jobs who have been struggling in industries that have gone by the way side will not see their dreams come to fruition.

Those who have fought for equal rights for all, their actions will have been in vain. Instead of going forward, we have been transported back to the 50's in the blink of an eye.

I truly believe our so called dictator will throw us into a war, because he has already succeeded in doing so by disrupting our great nation and other nations around the world. He will stop at nothing to destroy everything we have accomplished. He will destroy the environment as he sits his big sorry overweight Big Mac ass at Mar-a-Lago telling his uppity white ass friends they are getting richer, as the people of Puerto Rico go without basic necessities to continue living on a daily basis.

I still have HOPE.

Because these people have given me hope for a better day.

What people?

When I feel that all has been lost, I can still come here, my other home, filled with wonderful writers and wonderful dear friends that I have made over the past two years. And yes, I have lost a few friends, and have gained an unruly disposition because I refused to sit down and shut up. Sorry, I just can’t do that.

So this is for all my dear close friends on Medium…

Lets all take that great leap of faith and pray to whom ever you choose to pray to, that we will stand strong, be tenacious, pick each other up when our fellow friends have fallen down and let them know that in the end, it will all have been worth it.

In the words of Yuri Kochiyama…

“We are all part of one another”

Thank you to ALL of YOU for being there and being my friends.

Happy New Year.
