It has nothing to do with being the “ left” and being obsessed with tearing statues down, or being the “ right” and being obsessed with leaving the statues up.

It has to do with being a DECENT HUMAN BEING and recognizing the pain that others feel from the symbolism of those Confederate statues.

Here is a chart from the National Geographic society, who I highly doubt is either left or right in its publications, and the chart CLEARLY shows when these monuments were erected.

The proliferation of these monuments coincides with the Jim Crow era and the Civil Rights Movement. These monuments were created to instill fear into the black community, to let them know “their” place in history.

A decent human being would recognize this fact.
