Its All About the MONEY, Or Is It?

…and it’s simply grotesque and DISGUSTING

I simply cannot stand this man. He has no ethics, morals, and lacks empathy and compassion.

I hope those of you who voted for him realize that your vote is a REFLECTION of your CHARACTER.

So, lets see his newest assault on the people of Puerto Rico.

TRUMP ADMIN CHARGING PUERTO RICANS FULL FLIGHT PRICE AND HOLDING PASSPORTS TO EVACUATE ISLAND

President Donald Trump’s administration is requiring impoverished Puerto Rican hurricane victims to pay full price to evacuate — and will even holding their passports as collateral until the government receives payment.

The administration is reportedly sticking with a State Department policy that forces evacuees to sign a promissory note before leaving, according to MarketWatch Thursday morning. The note “obligates an evacuated person to repay the cost of the transportation to the U.S. government.

I don’t know about you, but this practice was done hundreds of years ago, when someone else payed for your travel, then you were held in their employ till the monies were paid off. This practice was called…

INDENTURED SERVITUDE.

An indentured servant or indentured laborer is an employee (indenturee) within a system of unfree labor who is bound by a contract (indenture) to work for a particular employer for a fixed time period. The employer is often permitted to assign the labor of an indenturee to a third party. Indenturees usually enter into an indenture for a specific payment or other benefit or to meet a legal obligation, such as debt bondage. Upon completion of the contract, indentured servants were granted freedom and occasionally plots of land. In many countries, systems of indentured labor have now been outlawed.

Indentured Servants in Colonial Virginia. Indentured servants were men and women who signed a contract (also known as an indenture or a covenant) by which they agreed to work for a certain number of years in exchange for transportation to Virginia and, once they arrived, food, clothing, and shelter.

This act is unconstitutional in my book. Why? This act is being done to US citizens.

A State Department official is required to hold an evacuee’s passport — unless he or she has another proper form of identification — until the promissory note is paid off.

This “ holding” of ones passport is a form of DEBT BONDAGE.

Debt bondage, also known as debt slavery or bonded labour, is a person’s pledge of labour or services as security for the repayment for a debt or other obligation.[1] The services required to repay the debt may be undefined, and the services’ duration may be undefined.[2] Debt bondage can be passed on from generation to generation.

The people of Puerto Rico are United State Citizens.

This is RACISM at its finest.

Do you know who uses this technique of withholding passports in exchange for a debt not paid?

Sex traffickers.

Traffickers use various techniques to keep victims enslaved. Some traffickers keep their victims under lock and key. However, the more frequent practice is to use less obvious techniques including:

Debt bondage — financial obligations, honor-bound to satisfy debt

Isolation from the public — limiting contact with outsiders and making sure that any contact is monitored or superficial in nature

Isolation from family members and members of their ethnic and religious community , Confiscation of passports, visas and/or identification documents

Use or threat of violence toward victims and/or families of victims

The threat of shaming victims by exposing circumstances to family

Telling victims they will be imprisoned or deported for immigration violations if they contact authorities

Control of the victims’ money, e.g., holding their money for “safe-keeping

So…

How do you about your President now?

More importantly…

How do you feel about yourself and your vote that put this monster in office?

If you aren’t appalled at this newest, clearly racist act…

Then YOU have no ethics, morals, and you lack empathy and compassion.

And you are a disgrace to humanity.

Shame on you.

UPDATE | President Donald Trump’s administration will not require impoverished Puerto Rican hurricane victims to pay full price for evacuation flights — contradicting earlier reports that it would maintain the pricey flight policy for the U.S. territory.

State Department policy does force emergency evacuees to sign a promissory note for the full-fare flight before leaving, according to MarketWatch, and such notes require the rescued person to “repay the cost of the transportation to the U.S. government.”

But the feds said that rule would not apply to Puerto Rico, where millions are without electricity and steady access to clean water more than a week after Hurricane Maria pummeled the island.

Maybe someone told them it would be bad “ optics”.

Nevertheless…

He has no ethics, morals, and lacks empathy and compassion.

And shame on you for voting this monster into office.
