Yes, it does. If people want to understand history, then read a book. Apparently you did not recognize the chart that shows those statues were not ERECTED after the civil war, in which Robert E. Lee turned against his own country and became a traitor to it, for the sake of keeping black People as personal property, but were ERECTED during the time of Jim Crow laws and during the civil rights movement. These monuments were to CELEBRATE the EVIL part of our history towards black Americans. Are you aware of the systemic and institutional racism that happens in this country to this day?

Tearing down statues does change things. They are GONE from sight. Those young maligned men who came to Charlottesville to protest its removal did not once chant ANYTHING regarding its removal, instead screamed heinous phrases like “ the Jews will not replace us, blood and soil( a Nazi phrase) and no immigration, one people, one nation.
