Today we announce the opening of STREAM PDX a mobile community podcast studio located in a 1967 Airstream, in Portland Oregon.
With the opening of the XOXO Outpost came the opportunity to manifest new ways to create and create together. When the space was announced a bunch of us immediately had the idea to create a place to produce audio, a studio that would be both for podcasters and video game makers, for interviewing all the amazing people that will be coming through the space, and for doing local and cross global audio collaborations. …
XOXO is something special. Those who’ve had a chance to attend one of the four, soon to be five, years of festivals will attest to this.
From its inception as a crowdfunded experiment created by two ambitions guys in Portland. To the vibrant conversations happening in 186 Slack channels. To the daily manifestation of the festival vision and values in a 30,000 SQ foot warehouse next to a bread factory. The XOXO community has grown and deepened over time, becoming something beyond just four amazing days in the fall.
How has your experiences at XOXO changed your life?
STREAM PDX our community podcast studio will have it’s grand opening at what could be the final XOXO festival. So it’s a perfect time to invite the community into the studio to share their stories of XOXO: Past, Present, and Future. We will collect, organize and eventually put them together in some way, maybe a podcast ?! More to come on this. …
STREAM PDX is a mobile recording/podcasting studio with a mission.
It exists to enable and promote the use of audio as a medium for self-expression and the transferring of ideas. It makes available the tools of audio production for the purpose of experimentation and the production of professional work.
Creators of all types are invited to use the studio to create new works or augment, extend and transform their current work through the use of our recording facility, education, and programming.
The studio currently lives inside of the XOXO Outpost and is deeply connected to the mission of the organization and to supporting the needs of the wider XOXO community. …
