Introducing Tipping

Since we have launched we’ve watched, chatted, and laughed with you all. We have seen some incredible live performances and entertaining content. It is SO entertaining that our users have asked how they could reward those creators. That is why we are releasing the opportunity to give and receive tips. An in-app currency exchange that can be turned into cash.

How does it work?
Update to the latest version of the app and start a new stream, a dialog box (shown below) will appear explaining a few rules and requirements to cash out. Accepting the terms will enable your ability to receive tips for content on all of your streams. Once a user receives 40,000 stream coins they will be eligible to convert their coins to cash on a monthly basis.

How do I tip someone? 
If the streamer you’re watching has enabled tipping you will see a tip-tab when viewing in portrait mode. You will be able to select how many coins you would like to tip the broadcaster as well purchase more coins for when you run out ;). You have the ability to purchase up to $99.99 worth of coins and as little as $0.99 at a time.

We aren’t just releasing tipping!

Making money on Stream might just be all that you need in life, but we are also launching another feature that gives you a new exciting way to create content. You can now stream from any camera that connects to your computer and broadcast to Stream via a nifty product called OBS. OBS allows you to customize your broadcast in just about every way possible; from custom overlays to multiple camera inputs and more.

All you will need is:

• The Stream broadcast URL: rtmp://media-servers-v2prod.stre.am:1935/live
• Your personal Stream key that you can obtain here: Stream Key

Brand new web experience

As many of you know you can view streams online by visiting stre.am/USERNAME, but we haven’t made many additions to the viewing experience lately. Until now, you can view streams in full-screen mode and have access to a new side panel where you can chat, see stream info, tip the broadcaster, and even browse trending streams!
