Your administration seems to be working directly counter to the idea of a trigger warning! How frustrating. I try to use them myself in writing that contains obvious possible triggers (Racism, sexual violence, sexual assault, etc). I’ve found that consistently using them has opened a lot more conversation about really uncomfortable topics than not using them; people seem more comfortable sharing & expressing things when they know up front what’s going on.

It’s very odd to me that your college would say “Oh you have a trigger warning? Sorry, you can’t discuss that topic at all then.” versus “Oh you have a general disclaimer? Sure, say whatever you like.” Do you think it’s just the risk-averse lawyer-run administration, or something even weirder?
