If I am the fat man I do not want to be pushed or commit suicide. True.

But …

If I am one of the 5 people, I want him to be pushed. Me and the other 4 people live. If there is someone on the other track, they are also safe.

If I am the one person on the other track, I also want him to be pushed. He can be sacrificed instead of me. Plus the massacre is prevented.

Thus, what I want depends on who I am, and doesn’t really help me decide the right thing to do in this thought experiment.

Even if I think about how I would want to be treated, it doesn’t help.
