The Arizona Diamondbacks also known as the D-backs were founded as an expansion franchise in 1998 with the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. They are located in Phoenix, Arizona, and play at Chase Field. The Diamondbacks, managed by Torey Lovullo, play in the National League West Division with the Dodgers, Padres, Giants, and Rockies. They have won 5 division titles (1999, 2001, 2002, 2007, 2011), 2 Wild Cards (2017, 2023), and appeared in 2 World Series (2001, 2023). The Diamondbacks 1 World Series Championship was in 2001 vs the New York Yankees in an epic 7-game series. Luis Gonzales was the World Series MVP for the Diamondbacks. The Diamondbacks have 2 retired numbers by the team which are 20 (Luis Gonzales), and 51 (Randy Johnson). The Diamondbacks primary colors include Red, Black, and Turquoise. The Diamondbacks have 5 jerseys they wear which includes a City Connect jersey. Their team mascot is a bobcat named Baxter. In addition, the Diamondbacks have a Legends Race at the end of every 5th-inning home game which is run by mascots: Randy, Gonzo, Matty, and Gracie.

Current stars of the team include Corbin Carroll, Ketel Marte, and Zac Gallen. Former Diamondback greats include Luis Gonzales, Randy Johnson, Paul Goldschmidt, and Brandon Webb. The Diamondbacks best regular season record was during the 1999 season in which they went 100–62 and their worst regular season record was in 2004 when they finished 51–111.

The home of the Diamondbacks, Chase Field, is an indoor/outdoor stadium with a retractable roof located in downtown Phoenix. It was opened in 1998 and is one of 7 stadiums that is retractable in the MLB being the 2nd oldest. For Spring Training, the Arizona Diamondbacks train at Salt River Field in Scottsdale, Arizona.
