I agree that the best team players will frame the answer in a way that does not cast blame, however… people who have been around the block once or twice, and who have learned how to tell us what we want to hear will also give an answer that does not place blame.

I’d also say I believe this is much less applicable for young people. I’ve hired and developed relationships with lots of young people who were great team players AND had lots of un(under)developed Leadership traits, and had not yet matured enough to find a deep sense of self awareness, nor learned enough about how the world works to answer any way other than completely honestly. How to frame answers is learned (at least that’s what I believe).
