Hats off to the author for some clear and needed process! I might have added, “and read a standard GUI design patterns book once a year” if you can find one. Here’s an excellent one targeted at the the PLC HMI crowd (they call them Human Machine Interfaces in that domain). Best book I’ve read this year and good for all around thinking about UI’s in general. https://www.pas.com/resources/pas-handbooks.
And one other thing — leave Tufte’s books on the coffee table for random inspiration.
Hats off to the author for a great topic!
