Good day everyone.

Please see my previous blogs for more information. There are a few but they all cover different subjects so hopefully will be an enjoyable read for you. It will cover the team, the blockchain, use case, development, the story so far and the battle against FUD. In one of my blogs its does link to this subject. The banking of the unbanked for digital content.

As said before Bezants current aim to allow those without bank accounts and bank cards to purchase digital goods using other means of paying such as sms or phone calls. This will vice versa allow those who create content but have no bank facilities to get paid to sell their product worldwide. In short that young guy down the road who made a few websites for local businesses can now sell his services or content worldwide. Like Ebay (in a way) but better because there will be no fees for buyers or sellers if they use Bezant as their currency of choice.

Lets look at what info their is on the market place that Bezant is trying to hit.

South East Asia

A fantastic part of the world. From the tiny huts you can stay in at Ang Thong Marine Park through to Marina Bay Sands. South East Asia has everything you could ever want. Personally Pad Thai street food. Whilst there are sprawling metropolis like Singapore with everyone clicked into the digital world and banking there is also a mass amount of the South East Asian populous that also are not banked. Lets look at some figures

Mr Baboo — My angry buddy from Ang Thong Marine Park

According to The World Bank only 29% of workers reported receiving their monthly salaries through a financial institution in ASEAN countries. This means they are paid cash which limits what it can be spent on. Unless you can buy over the counter you can’t have it. Furthermore only 30% of adults reported having a debit card. This leads to a local economy bubble. You can only get what you have locally. So for example your child wants to learn to play piano on their tablet but the app costs $2. You cannot get it for them as you have no digital payment method. Want to get Netflix? That is a no-go. Whilst the world is now linked via the internet with many ways to pay for the service there is not yet a way to help the unbanked make the most of it. Surely that should change?

POST PUBLISH EDIT —

Many thanks to Jonathan Cornish from Bezant’s TG Group for giving me this info.

Thailand — one of Bezants main targets is the fastest growing video game market in South East Asia. The reason I added this in is that Bezant and Jehmi will be teaming up with game producers and will become a large part of the package. I believe they already have a partnership but it is yet to be announced with whom. Please see the link below to the data source and a link to Bezant at Gamescom. Again this is GREAT news.

Looking outside of this area the below graph shows where less than 15% of the population ARE banked. This is from data from the World Bank, what an open marketplace.

World Bank Data also shows us-

  1. Women make up just over half of the unbanked, equaling 55%
  2. Between 2011 and 2014 the percentage of the bank accounts around the world grew from 51% to 62%
  3. India alone has 21% of the worlds unbanked populous

Its a big market place out there. My money is (literally) on Bezant for this one.
