Learning to solve math problems is an excellent place to being developing “problem solving” for everything we come across in this life.
I’m a Mechanical Engineer of 40 years now, and I can’t even imagine how many times I’ve used basic trigonometry to solve a problem…to the absolute amazement of those around me.
After college have I ever used the Calculus or Differential Equations…No, but I found the learning difficult but worthy.
I’ve also used mathematics to learn about money. Calculating loans, figuring net present worth, interest earning…you name it. I’ve worked with all five of my second wife’s children..teaching them about money, how to manage it, and how to enjoy it!!!
