NaNoWriMo: a series of failure
I’ve been doing NaNoWriMo since 2015. I know it’s not a lot of time, but it’s something, right?

As you can imagine from the very explicit title of this post, I was successful none of the past few years. To be honest, it was a complete failure every single time!
Let me show you my “achievement”:
- 2015: 10,651 words
- 2016: 26,000 words
- 2017: 6,359 words
- 2018: N/A
Last year I didn’t even announce the project!
Honestly, I don’t know what pushes me to start this adventure every November, but I did and here I am to tell you about it.
Every new project was a new story, that I, almost, never accomplished. Only one of those I was able to finish: NaNo attempt #2. All the other stories are still unfinished and two of them are likely to stay so forever.
This is why I decided to enter NaNo 2019 with a different mindset and goal. I’m not going to write a whole new story, or at least my goal is not to write a new story from start to end. What I’m going to pursuit is writing every single day. That’s it!
My project is named NaNoWriMo ’19, so very original!
What will I write then?
NaNoWriMo attempt #1 — the only one that will see an end — needs to be finished (approximately 10K words to add), and this is my priority. Then I’d like to start a new story I’ve had in mind for years! And maybe now it’s time to let it come out from the dark of my mind.
And last, but not least, I’d love to try and write some short stories in English, that I will publish here on Medium. My idea is to write starting from the huge amount of writing prompts pinned on my Pinterest board.
So, let’s get started and good luck to anyone who’s going to join me in this amazing, yet painful, adventure!
