On 20 th,April taken his last breath in Prague, Czechia at the age of 95.Gene was an American born Czech Illustrator and animator,producer as well as a director. The greatest director of all time who used to direct Tom and Jerry and Popeye:the sailor man.He was the one who introduce the animation to the world.He became popular for his continuous tremendous episodes of Tom and Jerry.In 1960, he won an Oscar for his best animated short film “Munro”. Along with he had also created the Tom Terrific series and Sidney’s Family Tree for which was also nominated for an Academy Award 1958. Also Gene was nominated for same award twice for “Here’s Nudnik” and “How to Avoid Friendship”. The nine-minute-comedy about a 4-year-old who’s drafted into the army became the first short created outside the U.S. to win the award . Tom and Jerry is one of the most iconic cartoon character of all time.These two of cat and mouse has managed to be part of enjoyment of many kids and adult of this generation now.
After Hanna Barbera left out the company Metro Goldwyn Mayer cartoon to pursue other stuff fate of this show really goes down .Then after couple of years it is handed over to a special one who took the responsibility on its way. It was none other then American-Czech Illustrator Gene Deitch. And result of this gave rise to some weirdest phase of Deitch era. From many people across the world this was a huge turn over to the series. However, a small minority of people including me says this is just my favorite era in time, but most interesting these Gene Deitch era from the classical era to remember.Some people may so it was not perfect as of classical era but not bad also. To be frank this particular era of Tom and Jerry was written by some fan friction writer,who had dreamed to see his likely character in various scenario . If you remember in Deitch era where the Tom and Jerry was totally different to compare classical era.The thirteen series that was made at that time in which animation was different, tone was different, Tom and Jerry color was also different. Somehow on that time the company budget was sanctioned very low. So, he was given only one quarter of it’s budget in which he have to make twice shots in that margin. So, obviously a quality drop is expected all along. But if you consider the animations could’t be a fact of criticism.Most profoundly in the bunch of series you can see a cruel short temper man who was the owner of Tom and he used to abuse physically a lot more then the brown lady in the classical. Now may be i am the minority, but i really enjoyed that era a lot. Among them my all time best are “Switchin kitten”,”Down of outing”,”It’s Greek to Meow”,”High Steaks”,”Mouse into space”. Also rest of are much more interesting “ Landing stripling”, then “Calyposo cat”,”Dicky Moe”,”Tall in the trap”,”Sorry safari”, “Buddies”.
