Buckeye Bus 2018: Northwest Ohio

The first of this summer’s Buckeye Bus trips took us to Northwest Ohio, where we learned, served and engaged with alumni for two extraordinary days.

Day 1: Footballs, Burgers and BGSU

Did you know that Ada, Ohio is home to the country’s only operating football factory? All of the footballs used by the NFL and the NCAA are made right here!

We joined President Drake’s State Tour at Kewpee Hamburgers for a delicious lunch and great conversations with Ohio State alumni.

Finally, we stopped by McClure Farms to learn about sustainability research happening there before ending the night with a forum on college affordability at Bowling Green State University.

Day 2: Selfies and Service

We kicked off day two with an epic selfie featuring President Drake and a bus full of extraordinary Buckeyes.

Then we had tons of fun with the kids of Bowling Green’s Community Learning Centers STARS summer camp.

After a leadership development session with Ohio State alum Gary Harpst, we headed to Findley’s Main Street Deli for a quick bite to eat before the (slightly rainy but still so much fun) Pickaway County Fair!

Thanks Buckeyes!

We owe a big thank you to President Drake, to the Northwest Ohio communities we visited and, of course, to the 25 extraordinary Buckeyes who made our first trip of the summer such a joy.

Stay tuned for another #BuckeyeBus experience in just a couple short weeks!
