I recently had an awakening after having a session with a tea practitioner in Kyoto.

Now a good tea can wake you up of that I know, but this wake up was on a deeper level. The tea was matcha. The conversation that followed was matcha deeper.

That’s early for a Dad joke a but I couldn’t resist.

I met him outside one of the temples in Kyoto. He had that way of walking and talking that made me think of how Red described Andy in The Shawshank Redemption “He had a quiet way about him, a walk and a…

“Change behaviour with a contextual nudge rather than by a cognitive shove.”

YES. When I read that line in Nudge by Richard H. Thaler I smiled like I did at the end of The Usual Suspects when I realised that (spoiler alert!) Keyser Soze had been in the cop’s office the whole time telling his story from what he’d been reading on the noticeboard behind his desk.

And you nod and inside…

Hi. How’s it going? I don’t know about you but every now and then I need to vent. Now while I normally do this over beers to loved ones and colleagues (often one and the same) I really need to have a louder voice on this one for a number of reasons. So please stick with me on this.

A good friend of mine asked me a couple of questions a few months ago and I’ve been thinking about them constantly.

Think about all the things you’ve learnt in the last 10 years. Did you learn a lot? You might…
