Interesting article. But it is hard to define mediocre. When a person has no innate ambition or vision being mediocre ain’t such a bad thing. Normal is underrated too. Problem arises with our expectations. In this age of information overload we tend to aspire for the very best, say being the next Steve Jobs or the next President or the VP of a huge firm but we forget that these are all statistical outliers. We can’t keep chasing dreams which we know won’t likely materialise. We expect a lot from ourselves and don’t really do anything different to work towards end. That is is where discontent is born. If you are hungry, if you are ambitious then work hard.
