Worn out during Christmas?
Many reach Christmas time worn out and weary, mostly due to their routine life with it’s woes and trials. Of course, Christmas is not a magical time where all those are eased. But it does help to remember that the Holy Family were one of the most worn out people during the birth of Christ. Travelling far, from Nazareth of Galilee to Bethlehem of Judea around the time of childbirth with no modern quick transport system. Probably Mary on a mule and Joseph walking it all the way delicately taking care of Mary, knocking on doors for a place to bring forth the Child and landing up only in a manger with health hazards for the Newborn.
Yet all their fatigue forgotten at the sight of this miraculous prophesied Child King. Angels singing, wise men from far east came to Worship Him and Shepherds came to give their testimony. They rejoiced and were exceedingly glad, most oblivious of the fact that a mad king Herod would soon try to annihilate Him and they would have to run to Egypt.
At each move, ancient prophesies of Scriptures were being fulfilled in all that was happening. Our lives too are on dot, in God’s time and plan. Jesus our Savior, Immanuel who is invested with all authority in heaven and on earth, who said “all the hairs of your head are numbered”, is with us and in us. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad. Heaven watches over you, History dances around YOU, His chosen beloved.
