Are You Ready for Radical Self-Acceptance?
It’s almost impossible to stay out of self-judgment when it seems like every time I look on the internet or at television all I see are “perfect” people. They have perfect bodies, they’re in perfect relationships, they have the perfect business, they wear perfect clothes, they live in the perfect house and they drive the perfect car.
With millions of images of “perfection” shot at us every time we turn on media (social or mainstream), we are conditioned to compare ourselves with others. We’ve been led to believe that if we internalize negative judgments they will motivate us to make an improvement.
The only true shield from these judgments is a strong, radical level of self-acceptance and self-confidence.
For 20 years I’ve studied self-care techniques and how to use mind-body awareness to increase self-esteem. It wasn’t until I fully understood radical body acceptance, intense self-compassion and deep self-forgiveness that I was able to truly build a strong foundation of genuine, authentic, self-confidence.
In my best-selling book Metamorphosis I shared a lot of my journey around feeling invisible, believing I was worthless because of the size of my body, and that I allowed other people’s opinion of me to rule my world.
Today it’s time to step up my game. It’s time for me to embrace my life’s work and be willing to be the highly visible leader of Sue’s Supreme Self-Acceptance Strategies.
In the same way I have always done, even in my book, I am not going to share just the “pretty parts” but the intense, pain-filled lessons. As I have embraced my self-confidence, I have come to strongly believe there are the stepping-stones to follow in order to truly feel empowered. It’s time for ALL of us to accept and love ourselves COMPLETELY.
