Privilege and inequality in Silicon Valley

I’m not an immigrant but I grew up poor surrounded by rich and middle class kids. It sucks to find yourself always battling your inner dialogue or “buggy code” as Ricky put it. I have always felt less of a person regardless of how smart I was compared to who I was around. To top it all off, I grew up in a abusive home so when I go to meetups for tech or startups, I have the default “mindset inequality” that I don’t belong which manifest itself as being socially awkward . I’m actually really articulate and social, just lack confidence, which can kill any chance of creative conversation. The real struggle is inside my own mind. I can learn new technologies everyday, but teaching yourself how to unlearn this buggy mentality is very, very hard.
