Terminator Dark Fate Full Movie Download “Terminator: Dark Fate” is a strange situation. It’s a franchise movie that wants to pretend most of the franchise didn’t actually happen. It wants to pick up directly from “Terminator 2: Judgment Day,” and just ignore “Terminator 3,” “Salvation” and “Genisys.”

Folks in Hollywood like to throw around the term “reboot” willy nilly, and it can get really confusing for fans since they way they use it isn’t super consistent. That’s because there’s two very different shades of reboot — the “hard” reboot and the “soft” reboot. A hard reboot is like

“Spider-Man: Homecoming,” which is just a complete restart of a franchise from scratch — none of the previous movies happened. A soft reboot, on the other hand, is a continuation of the franchise’s existing story that does a sort of in-universe reset. That’s what “Terminator: Dark Fate” is doing that, taking place after the original two “Terminator” movies but kicking off a new, separate story

The main bit that “Dark Fate” takes from “T2” is that Sarah basically goes through the same relationship arc with the T-800 all over again. She hates him and wants to kill him at the beginning, but then by the end they’re bros. This is a pretty frustrating thing to rehash.

The idea there is that all this time travel may change the past, but history will eventually correct itself. So machines will always destroy civilization, and people will always win in the end. I don’t know that “Dark Fate” is really pushing this idea in the same terms as those other stories, but it certainly works out the same as presented in the movie. In that sense, it probably didn’t ever actually matter if John Conner survived in the past — no matter what, somebody would have led humanity to victory in the end.

So we don’t know if Legion is just another rebranded version of Skynet. But the similarities are stark. In both movies, “Judgment Day” didn’t happen in 1997, and then decades later an AI with a different name just did the Skynet thing again. It’s hard not to think that Legion is just another iteration of Skynet.
