Let’s tackle aging and mental health disorders by pooling expertise.
I wish to make aging as pleasant, life as long, and mental health problems as minimal as possible. Here is one of the several plans, which will cumulatively help achieve it. Here is my call for action, where you can contribute your expertise, sitting from your research lab or home.
We are building separate compendiums of inflammation, immune responses, oxidative stress, ion-channels and electrical signaling, mitochondria, cellular trafficking, apoptosis, etc. The basic idea is to create computational biology pipelines, to go through each mental health disorder and each metabolic disorder. Such pipelines can enable identification of known issues for each disease, identify strengths & weaknesses of model systems, identify gaps in knowledge, and suggest existing compounds for therapeutic intervention. Looking forward to building virtual teams for this dream. This means that people who have both expertise in one domain and time are of great value to me. I am happy to build large virtual teams around each such person for this collaborative effort. If you think, this model of citizen science, its goals, are suited to you or any of your friends, get in touch with me.
