Weekly journal #1 — 01/12/23
My first goal is to be able to narrow down my content. Right now, I have 3 different selections within my 2.5–3 minute video outlined, but after today’s lecture I think I can cut it down and make it into a series, like we had talked about. I think this idea would lend itself better to my project anyways, since it will be easier for my time frame and more engaging for the audience (whose attention spans aren’t getting any longer).
I would also like to use the “ABC” chart to consider new ways and things to implement into my animation (will the text be “written” onto the screen? Typed on? Supers only? This is something I will explore first in terms of visual identity. By the time we talk next week, I would like to have narrowed down my content, and pick one (psylocibin, ayahuasca, or LSD) to make my video about. I have extensive research on all 3, so it should be simple to narrow it down.
My visual accompaniment for my journal is this short animation in the style that I plan on animating my final. This took me about 30 minutes to complete, with no additional editing. I normally work fast when animating frame by frame, so I think this is a good starting point/practice.
(if the animation won’t load.. find me I will show you if you wanted to see)
