Having been an entrepreneur for a good part of my life, having initiated and associated with start-ups for the last 35 years, I find your guidelines very useful. Especially the Search to Build stage is very crucial. I have seen how CEOs fail to ‘grow up’ to the next stage and keep gloating over how they picked up their people in the start-up stage and allowed them to do what it takes to get their initial success. The same CEO fails to set up clear cut processes and professionalise the organisation, as the organization grows, over relying on his initial key people and the people oriented management style.
