3 Ways to Style Your Hair with Wired Headbands
We are loving these wired and retro-inspired headbands by Vancouver-based designer Retroussé. They are not only a great way of dressing up your everyday style, but they also help to keep your hair out in a more interesting way than simply resorting to a basic ponytail or a plain bun. Which style is your favourite? Follow us and Retroussé on Instagram and let us know!
1. The high bun-tie can be styled in so many great ways!
As shown here, throw your hair up in a messy bun and tuck the ends in underneath the headband to give it that extra 50’s inspired look.
Another way of creating a similar style is to braid a high ponytail and pinning it together in a braided bun before tying the headband.
The great thing about Retroussé’s wired headbands is that you can be creative in the way you shape them, so with this style for example, you could easily just twist the ends in order to give it a cute bowtie look as shown later below.

2. Let your hair lose!
If you have shorter hair or just want to keep your hair out, this is another great style that will keep your hair in place while maintaining that feminine look!
You can either part your hair in the middle (as shown here) in order to frame your face, or you can pull it all back in a ponytail before tying your headband. Release your hair to maintain that airy flow without having to worry that your long front pieces might escape.
This style would also look great with bangs, so please tag us on Instagram if that’s you!

3. The low ponytail!
This such a great way of creating that sophisticated look while still keeping the hair down. Notice that the headband is twisted in the back and turned a little bit to the side to show off its ends.
This way of tying the headband will also looks great when coupled with a low bun, either structured (using a donut if needed), or a loosely tied bun with some of the hair strains falling out.
