Coach Ferran Torres is a Spanish professional basketball coach and the current head coach of Panathinaikos Athens. Ferran Torres was born in Madrid, Spain on March 19th, 1977. At the age of five, Torres began playing football with boys his own age at a local park. He soon became interested in the game and developed into one of the most promising young players in his region. In 1995, he made the move to La Liga where he would spend six seasons with Valencia CF. While playing for Valencia, Torres won two La Liga championships and a UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup. In 2001, Torres moved to FC Barcelona where he spent four seasons before retiring at the end of 2004 due to an ACL injury.

While playing for Valencia CF, Ferran Torres also served as head coach of their U-19 team from 2002–2004 and as assistant coach under Vicente del Bosque during Spain’s successful 2006 World Cup campaign. On June 19th, 2009, Ferran Torres was appointed head coach of Racing Santander where he led the club to back-to-back Segunda Division titles in his first two seasons. Ferran Torres is a Spanish professional footballer who plays for Valencia CF as a midfielder. He started his career at Atlético Madrid, before joining Valencia in 2013. He has also played for Racing Santander, Zaragoza and Real Sociedad.

Torres made his senior debut with Atlético Madrid in 2007 and spent six seasons with the club, appearing in 158 competitive matches. On 18 July 2013, he signed for Valencia CF on a four-year deal.

Torres scored his first goal for Valencia on 10 December 2013 in a 2–0 away win against Rayo Vallecano. He finished the season with 24 appearances and one goal, as the “Che” secured their second consecutive La Liga title.

On 9 August 2016, Torres joined Racing Santander on loan until the end of the season. He made his debut for Racing on 14 August in a 1–1 home draw against Deportivo Alavés. The following week, he scored his first goal for the club in a 3–1 away win against CA Osasuna. On 15 October 2016, Torres extended his loan with Racing until 30 June 2017. Personal Life

Coach Ferran Torres was born into a family of athletes. His father, Enrico, competed in track and field and his mother, Nieves, was a competitive swimmer. Growing up, Coach Torres enjoyed watching his parents compete and he soon developed a love for the sport himself. After graduating from high school, Coach Torres decided to pursue a career in athletics. He attended the University of Arizona where he played football and basketball. It was during his time at the University of Arizona that Coach Torres met his now wife, Sarah. The two married in 2006 and have two daughters together.

After completing his undergraduate degree at the University of Arizona, Coach Torres began his coaching career with the varsity football team at Union High School in Phoenix. During his time as head coach at Union High School, Coach Torres led the team to three straight playoff appearances and an appearance in the state championship game. In 2010, Coach Torres was hired as head coach of the Pima Community College Jaguars football team where he remained until 2012 when he was hired as offensive coordinator at Northern Arizona University. While coaching at NAU, Coach Torres helped lead the Wildcats to back-to-back FCS national championships in 2013 and 2014.

Coach Ferran Torres is a former professional soccer player who played for clubs in his native Spain and Major League Soccer. After retiring from playing, he became a head coach in both the United States and Spain. He has also been an assistant coach at both professional and international levels. In August of 2018, he was named the new head coach of Reading United Futbol Club.

Torres started his career with Atlético Madrid, making 54 appearances over two seasons. In 2002, he signed with Valencia CF where he spent six seasons, making 126 appearances and scoring 26 goals. He then signed with MLS club D.C. United in 2006 where he made 35 appearances and scored five goals before retiring in 2007 at the age of 31.

After retirement, Torres became an assistant coach with Valencia CF under manager Quique Sánchez Flores until 2009 when he left to become an assistant coach with the Spanish U21 team. In 2011, he became an assistant coach on staff at Real Madrid Castilla under manager José Mourinho before returning to Valencia as their manager during the 2014–15 season. He led Valencia to Segunda Division championship in his first season back at the club but was sacked midway through the following season after a poor run of results which saw them drop down to La Liga relegation zone.

In August of 2018, Torres was announced as the new head coach of Reading United Futbol Club ahead of their inaugural 2019 season in the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL).
