H. Nemesis Nyx, I know you are better than this.
I didn’t get the impression from her piece that Kitten Holiday holiday was talking about all women or claiming that all men are victims. To me, it seemed like she was giving another side to the story.
Which you promptly claimed is assisting abusers.
You don’t need to agree with her viewpoint. Trying to imply her viewpoint enables your personal abuse is emotionally manipulative and by feminist definitions is emotional abuse…the exact thing she was talking about.
However I think the way this is written seems to imply that all divorces initiated by women (75% is what you brought the stat you found down to) happen in this way. I think it’s a dangerous thing to imply.
The idea that facts are dangerous has been incredibly destructive to our society. It is simply a fact. It is neither blame nor judgement nor explanation but the fact that you moved to suppress this information immediately because you personally disliked it is emblematic of much of the ills in our current societal discourse. I suspect it may even be a human trait, but I don’t know.
Anyway, my point is I don’t see how Kitten Holiday’s piece invalidates yours or any other women’s stories because it wasn’t about them and that’s ok.
