STARKVILLE, MS (WTVB) — Not a good weekend for Sparty. The Michigan State women’s basketball was beaten by Mississippi State 74–72 in the second round of the NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament on the Bulldogs home court.

The Spartans had a chance to tie the game but missed two close shots. During a scramble for a loose ball, television replays showed Mississippi State’s Kayla Nevitt stepped out of bounds with the ball. But there was no call and the Spartans season ended.
