Models Actually Don’t Want to Work
7 years as a model manager / Mum / big sister / mentor / psychologist has given me quite the insight into teenagers and twenty-somethings in today’s age. What consistently floors me is that despite modelling being a profession the is often aspired to, those chosen few who have hit the genetic lottery and lucky enough to choose to be able to model as a full time profession, actually don’t want to work.
They will of course work, but only if the following conditions are met.
* The stars are aligned in Mercury Retrograde
- They don’t have their period
- Someone can drive them
- There’s not a festival within a 500km radius that day
- Their boyfriend is being nice to them
- It’s no one in their family or friends birthdays…or even friends or friends
- Their not on holidays
- Their pets are healthy
- They like the client
- They don’t feel fat that day
- They like the country the job is in
- They haven’t organized some free instagram shoot on the side for a free tshirt
- They haven’t lost their passport and/or it’s expired
And finally one of my all time favourites…
“I’ll only do it if it’s worth it”
What the fuck does that even mean
