Series Preview: Red Sox vs. Rangers
By: Olivia Prewitt
On June 24 two of the American League’s best meet up in a three-game set. The Texas Rangers (47–26) and the Boston Red Sox (39–32) have two of the best eight records in baseball.
The Red Sox got off to an unbelievable start. In 28 games in the month of May, their record was 18–10. Since, they are 7–12. Going into today’s final game against the White Sox, they have lost three straight.
As for the Rangers they have been having a remarkable season, they are currently No. 2 in the MLB behind the Chicago Cubs (No. 1)
Great news for Ranger fans
Yu Darvish made his return last month. Darvish had been out for the past year due to an elbow injury. After undergoing “Tommy John” surgery he seems to be fully recovered. Before his injury he was the Rangers ace. After three decent starts, he exited with shoulder tightness. Although this is a frustrating injury, the fact the Darvish has made a full elbow recovery is good enough for Ranger fans.
The following pitching lineups include:
Friday - David Price (Red Sox) vs Nick Martinez (Rangers)
Saturday - Steven Wright (Red Sox) vs A.J. Griffin (Rangers)
Sunday - Clay Buchholz (Red Sox) vs Martin Perez (Rangers)
