Dubai, If re-winded 50 years is a desert and the main occupation is hunting, camel breeding , Pearl diving and fishing in the Arabian sea for the living with very less scope for fresh drinking water.

Things changed when oil was discovered in this desert region and the fate of Dubai like other gulf countries have changed.   3. The elevator inside Burj Khaifa is the fastest elevator in the world and it takes only 1 minute to travel to the observation deck which is on level 124 from ground level i.e. it travels at a staggering speed of 10m/s.

4. One of the most interesting fact about Burj Khalifa is the tip of the sphere of the building can be seen from a distance of 91 km on a clear day.

5. It took only 6 years to complete this giant structure with approximately 12000 workers working per day. Started in Jan 2004 and the building is completed in Jan 2010.

6. It takes 3 months to clean the glasses of the whole building.

7. 110,000 tonnes of Concrete and 55,000 tonnes of steel is used which is equivalent to the weight of 100,000 elephants for the construction of this giant.

8. Last but not least Burj Khalifa is the tallest free standing structure in the world.
