Chase Excellence & Success will chase you in an Interview
Before going to get a job, we must cross a bridge and what is this? Yes, you have guessed it right, this bridge is of course an interview. Many of us have a fear in our mind about an interview and we often get stressful, confusing and get some traumatic feelings. So, besides having excellent preparation, we lost our confidence due to these conditions and we are rejected. Some person also fails in interviews because they are not fully equipped with basic preparation and they even not know the personality of recruiters. So, to get information about the main ingredients for getting success in an interview. We the” Group of Amal Fellows” decided to contact to HR Professional to improve ourselves and the answers are very helpful.
On Wednesday, 29 August 2018, with my group members; I had a meeting with “Manager -Client Care & HR System Consultant at Contour Software Inc.” Mr. Muhammad Kashif Ejaz told us that “Our job must match with our personality.” He said: “if you are not interested in the job and you present yourself passionate and interested during the interview, you may get the job, but you face difficulties in performing the job duties.”
Further, when we asked him, “how you identify the candidate is being real or not during the interview?” Mr. Kashif told us that “candidate’s way of talking, candidate’s fluency in answering the question, and his experience;” which he shows in his resume, shows which candidate is being real or not during the interview. He said: “In Contour Software before hiring, they verified all the information from resume which candidate mention in his/her Resume”. When we asked, “what are your expectations from an applicant?” Mr. Kashif told us “in Contour Software Inc, they mostly hired Software Engineers; so, applicant must have information about their field. For HR posts applicants must have good communication skills.
When we asked, “which applicants you prefer those who email their resume or those who in-personally drop their resume?” Mr. Kashif told us that “they don’t prefer both because they mostly hire those applicants which their current employees refer to them.” Further, when we asked, “what are the basic Question Behind Question you really want to ask from an applicant?” He told us, “it depends on the situation, if the person told us any wrong information, then they ask more question.
Mr. Kashif suggests before going to an interview, “we must have a relevant information about the company and must-read the Job Description carefully because the recruiter asked mostly questions from the job description.” He further suggests always prepared yourself according to the company environment and be formal.
This meeting really turned our minds to new paths of thinking and our perspective about interviews changed now. This activity was very helpful for us as with this answer, we can tackle the situation more easily and answer the questions more effectively. Every student should try to reach such activities so that they can improve themselves.
