The Subconscious Advantage of Whiteness in Hiring

This is a fantastic piece. The whole “cultural fit” bit is always annoying. Especially when it’s coming from organizations that are looking to be more diverse and inclusive. It looks quite progressive on paper but the reality is more like this: “One woman — check, and she’s a visible minority? (score!)”
I wrote a piece on the importance of our names, and how for many with non-mainstream ones (like yours truly), changing your name (at least on resumes and Linkedin) seems like a great way to at least not have your resume tossed.
You’ve provided some key take backs for all organizations looking to truly embrace diversity and inclusion.
