Synthetic Meat : Becoming nature.

Veganism should and will never go mainstream. Scientists and designers are not far away from perfecting synthetic meat so that it can replace animal meat in the near future. Anything nature can do, humans can do better. Evolution only produced those animals which were necessary. And we were limited in our eating habits both by nurture and the variety of meat available. Accordingly, beef, chicken, pork and mutton have been the most consumed forms of meat since ancient times.

All that is going to change with the advent of synthetic meat. This would be the biggest revolution in the food industry since fructose. The possibilities would be endless. We would create more varieties of meat than nature deemed necessary. Like in every industry, in the long run, it would be faster, cheaper and more eco-friendly to consume synthetic meat than the animal one. Synthetic meat would be so readily available everywhere that Animal meat would be relegated to a few boutique restaurants. Even the names such as beef and pork would become redundant as the sources and quality would differ drastically.

I can imagine a startup boom like the one we saw when Apple launched the App Store. Entrepreneurs will offer novel culinary experiences that would be tasted for the first time in history. Chefs and designers will not only select but create custom meat too.
