How to Keep Your Mind Clutter Free?
More information is bad. Worse when it is unnecessary. Worst when all the information you consume either wastes your time or makes your mind cluttered.
Thousands of thoughts come in our mind throughout the day. Some good and some absolutely unnecessary. Unproductive thoughts drain our energy out. Here are 5 easy steps to keep your mind clutter free.
Empty Your Mind, Write It All Somewhere
Whatever comes to your mind, just write it somewhere. Your mind works best when it is empty. If there are undecided thoughts, they keep your mind constantly busy. Take a notebook/ pad and pen or go to your computer or take your mobile device and start writing all your thoughts down. Free your mind of constant distraction of pending thoughts.
Organise It
Now you have a list of all your thoughts, it is time to organise them properly. Read each thought and decide the next action point. Is it necessary? Do you need to take any action? Will it be helpful in future? If the thought is not of use, discard it and forget about it. If it involves the next action, write it down as a to do list. Do this for every thought that you have written down.
Pick Only 3 Most Important Tasks for Today
You have organised your thoughts. In those decided thoughts, pick 3 most important activities that you want to accomplish today. Don’t pick more than three. Just three. Why? It should not feel more burden on you. It should feel light. You should not feel, you have too many things to do. This brings your mind back to worrying, thus making it hard to focus on current task.
Schedule Other Tasks on Priority Basis
After today’s most important 3 tasks, schedule other tasks. Activities about which you are not sure, keep them in to do list. Revise them again in few days and decide the next action with timeframe.
Stop Consuming Social Media
More information is bad. Worse when it is unnecessary. Worst when all the information you consume either wastes your time or makes your mind cluttered. Stop consuming social media.
Instead, start reading a book. Go out and play something. Talk to friends. Spend that valuable time with your loved one.
