In the second of these new series of interviews focussing on Fashion Brands we talk to Natalia Valevskaya. Born on 3 June 1978, Natalia is a Russian Haute Couture and prêt-à-porter fashion designer producing exclusive dresses under the brand Natalia Valevskaya since 1998.
What Is Your Most Proud Of From The New Collection?
I am really happy that we keep tour quality at a very high level. We are moving our headquarters to Milan now, so the production process can be followed even more closely. All our pieces are produced in Italy, from textile to assembly. I am also delighted that we managed to keep our collection’s connection with art by collaborating or pulling inspiration from prominent artists.Natalia Valevskaya Valentino.

What Quality Of Yours Or Personal Trait Matters The Most In Your Career And Is Reflected In Your Work?
I am a very creative person, passionate about art and it resonates in all of my work. I love life and have a constant drive for innovation, in search for new trends and tendencies. A am Gemini and there is duality to the sign and hence my work: as for example the nature of my fashion which is highly wearable while each being an art object.
How Do You Move Fashion Forward Year After Year?
I believe that the key is professionalism. To succeed a fashion designer needs a profound knowledge of history of art and laws of fashion design.
What Is Your Vision To Asian Fashion Market?
Asian market at the moment is the most open and susceptible at the moment, progressive and innovative. It’s alive and has plenty of amazing fashionistas, more than Europe or USA.
Natalia Valevskaya is a member of the Russian Artists Union and a renomated art historian.
For several years Natalia Valevskaya has been a fashion critic and reporter for the Russian magazine OK!
Natalia is a regular columnist of a Russian Internet magazine Post@-Magazine.
In 1998 Natalia starts working as a haute couture designer producing only exclusive hand-crafted garments of highest quality that are elegant and draws the eye.
Her DNA imposes her to use only the most luxurious and exclusive materials, furs and leathers.
Couture dresses decorated with natural pearls, corals, malachite, turquoise, golden and silver threads makes each dress practically a piece of art.
In 2012 Natalia was chosen by the world famous fur brand NAFA (North American Fur Association) for their collection Black NAFA which that year reflects appallingly the times of the Great Gatsby.
In 10 years of work in the fashion industry, Natalia participated in many fashion events, music and tv shows.
Russian Fashion Week, several International Fashion Weeks, in 2008 she opened the Russian pavilion during the Cannes Film Festival.
The same year Natalia Valevskaya has been invited personally by the president of Argentina Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner to show her collection at the Fashion Week in Buenos Aires
