Before joining Medium, about once a month when I couldn’t keep my virtual mouth shut, I posted my political opinions on Facebook. One month, I happened to mention I am not a fan of student loan forgiveness. One of my friends responded with, “I usually agree with you but I’m a social worker and there is no way I’ll be able to repay my student loans in this lifetime.” And I thought, “Great, you knowingly defrauded the government, and therefore us, and now you want millions of others to be allowed to do it, too?”
