I think this is the key for me. I recently blocked a popular Medium writer because all of her responses to me were filled with sighs and capital letters and comments like, “I’m so upset I’m shaking right now.” When she jumped on someone trying to defend me (totally catching that person, a mutual friend, off guard), then explained it by saying our words triggered her, I finally blocked her. I probably hurt her feelings, but who the heck wants to be responsible for triggering someone else’s panic attack?
