You Might be a Redneck

You might be a redneck if…you suddenly find yourself unable to live without this, The Beast, AKA our new shed/watering system on wheels. Now complete with custom cup-holder and tunes.

What’s not to love?

A while back I mentioned we borrowed the in-laws’ golf cart to keep everything watered when we were getting ready for the wedding.

Who knew it would be such a game-changer?

Who did? The hubs did. For years he’d been ogling Gators and other such vehicles, and all the while I rolled my eyes, and thought…

Yeah, right. It would be nice, but I’ve carried buckets and dragged brush for years. A Gator would be totally frivolous.

And then came the golf cart.

Suddenly we were planting areas far, far from the house, AND keeping everything alive. At least once a day we’d fill up five gallon buckets and make the rounds. He’d water and I’d prune. I’d water and he’d chainsaw. He’d water and I’d trim.

Like a beautifully orchestrated dance.

Suddenly we had asparagus and raspberries and lilacs and rhubarb. The sun bed I’ve wanted to expand for years is twice the size. The misplaced fire ring is gone. The rock garden looks (pretty much) like a rock garden. The barnyard is getting cleared…

So, guess who didn’t want to return the golf cart?

Yep, that would be me.

But, since a Gator may never be in our price range, we shopped around…and around…and around.

The first time the hubs fired up the Truckster I knew…

Destiny.

She may not be pretty, but she runs great AND has a one ton payload.

And she dumps.

And we sure as hell don’t have to worry about scratching her up.

I have to give Insideout credit, though. Not once has he said I told you so.

Not in so many words, anyway.

Just because she’s the most beautiful child ever.
