Sanya is a major city in the island province of Hainan in China. The city is one of China’s most popular destinations for white-sand beaches lined with palm trees, clear waters, coral reefs, scuba diving, surfing, mountain ranges, and a beloved tropical climate. The rainforests in Sanya make it ideal for activities that include hiking, snorkeling, and ziplining. The city also boasts of various cultural heritage sites that stand as a testament to the rich history of China. This article is the only Sanya Travel Guide you will need to navigate the city and make the most of it.

The Sanya Phoenix Hill Park

The first place recommended by this Sanya Travel Guide is Phoenix Hill Park, also known as the Fenghuangling Park. The Phoenix Hill Park is the perfect starting point for your tour of Sanya as it allows you to have a bird’s eye view of all Sanya from Sanya Bay as far as Yalong Bay. Once you have captured the essence of Sanya, all at once, its beaches, mountains, and forests, you can begin your journey into these attractions. You can either climb up to the viewpoint, making for a good 2-hour hike, or ride the cable up to the viewpoint in just about 10 minutes to soak in the various hues of the sun as it sets down on the bay.

The Sanyan Nanshan Buddhism Culture Park

The Nanshan Buddhism Culture Park is located 40kms to the south-western side of the main city of Sanya. It is a theme park that consists of 3 theme parks within it, all of which revolve around Buddhism. Vacation is often an escape from the business of everyday life. And this is why this Sanya Travel Guide recommends the Nansham Buddhism Culture Park as a must-see spot in Sanya. The quiet and calm you have come looking for can be found in this park as you sit meditating. In addition to this quiet escape, the Culture Park also houses the 4th highest statue in the world — the Guanyin Buddha statue, which is a sight to behold. The other attractions of the Culture Park include its lush gardens, the spinning wheels, and the Nepal Pavilion.

The Sanya Romance Park

The next spot on this Sanya Travel Guide is taken by the Sanya Qianguqing Scenic Spot, more commonly referred to as the Sanya Romance Park. This theme park is a combination of a waterpark, a theatre, a zoo, a market, and a cultural center! There are 10 zones within the park with various themes. Some of these zones include the Elephant Valley, the ancient city of Yazhou, and the village of Li & Miao. The Sanya Qianguqing Grand Theater is famous for its shows put up by talented actors. The specialty of this theatre is that the show is not just put up on the stage; the actors can exit from various parts of the theatre itself to give spectators the most realistic experience of the play. Needless to say, this is an experience you just should not miss when you are in Sanya.
