Alright Prag here are my thoughts:
- Butler HAS to be traded now. I agree with you, but it doesn’t seem likely before the trade deadline. From what I’m hearing, Boston isn’t willing to part ways with Crowder. They wanna go into the playoffs WITH crowder to bolster their defense against Cleveland.
- Do we get the same type of assets after the season is over prior to draft? Maybe.
- Will the Bulls actually fire GarPax? Because we need some fresh blood at the top to make this all happen. This will ideally mean that we keep Hoiberg on the books during the rebuild (which is really unfortunate since he will probably do NOTHING to actually develop the young talent or best case scenario he’s able to get through to them), then fire Hoiberg in a few years when it’s less of a burden (Did we really give him 5–yrs? wtf).
- We know the ideal scenarios but what’s most likely. Most likely like all the previous years, we don’t make any trades prior to the deadline or we make one mediocre trade (maybe a Mirotic/2nd round for Jahlil, oh wait that’s dead. Nerlens is going to Dallas…just found out). So best case scenario for us, this is another re-tool vs rebuild so maybe get a Reggie Jackson from Detroit to pair with Butler and Wade. We could give Boston a run for their money playing them in the 1st round. When we lose in the playoffs, then trade Butler, let Wade go, and really start the rebuild.
