Bravo friend, but this is far from accurate.
I’m going to have to pick this particular paragraph apart, bit by bit. Lovingly of course, not out of anger. I didn’t find what you said offensive, only misinformed about everything that we Creationist are.
First things first, Bob is a rare one. Very few creationist are flat earthers as far as I’m aware. It’s true that most of us are conspiracy theorists based on biblical prophecies and evidence around us in the world we live in. Actual Christian’s who are paying attention at least. If you knew the Bible the way we do, or even an honest fraction of what is in there, you would understand. The evidence for the whole book being true is undeniable and highly observable.
Are you aware that they have found Sodom and Gamora? Right where the Bible said they were. As well as Noah’s Ark, right where the Bible said it had landed? Two of the most denied Biblical encounters have been fully uncovered and explored and evidently confirmed. Even Jesus’s death AND resurrection was scientifically confirmed the way they solve murder mysteries, including biblical encounters and outside resources confirming that Jesus was indeed a real person. The evidence for prophecy coming true and unfolding in the world we live in today is so obvious and in your face, that denial is willful ignorance.
Turning to your post again, I want to talk first about what we need vs what you see us needing. You say we believe what we believe because of the need of a narrative. We all have a story, we are all narrators of our on experiences. We have no need for additional stories and fables of where we came from. We dont need assumptions to the never ending question, who are we and where did we come from? Science will never satisfy us with an unchanging answer full of truth… Only theories with no solid proof that never stop evolving, day after day, untruth after untruth. What we need is to know an honest to God answer. So where do we turn? To God, directly. Ask and He shall answer. Knock and the Door will open. These are two things God promised, and he has never broken and will NEVER break even one of his promises. Rest assured, our GOD is faithful, he is our only creator.
We understand that the world is complex. God is not a simple creature, he is the most complex thing that you will never understand. The world we live in IS absolutely sinister in nature and that is not the fault of our wonderful Creator. It is our own. We choose sin, day after day. We deliberately disobey even the most simple of commands out of selfish desires. We believe that we can play God better than God can God, and he allows us to make our own decisions. We get to choose who to worship. God, ourselves, Satan, demons or Angels, money, other idols such as our technology, material possession. The worship of an idol is giving anything more time, love, or attention that we give our only creator. This is the first commandment and it is broken by almost everyone on Earth this day and age. Very few of us ever truly succeeded in putting God first in everything and worshipping only Him. Even I am a failure at this a good share of the time, at the very best I can recognize this, pray for forgiveness and work relentlessly to change these habits. At my worst I fail to remotely understand what I did wrong.
Sometimes our good intentions lead us astray, we fail to see ourself as we truly are and how our behavior has brought us to a place of darkness and condemnation. We condemn ourselves. We all come from places of judgment and anger, we all experience hatred, jealousy, lust and things that are even worse… we suffer anxiety, guilt, stress and shame as these ARE sins against ourselves and others- more importantly against God and his authority. This is something very few people understand. When we are left to our own natures to take over, we are absolutely evil 100% of the time with out even realizing it. This is why the world is the way it is right now. It is almost self explanatory but until he opens our eyes and ears we are blind and deaf.
It really is good vs evil. It really is black and white. It IS God vs Satan. God gave him free reign over the Earth as more or less a wager. I reccomend the book of Job to explain this further, just a bit. Satan thinks he can play God better than God can. Sounds familiar? He wants to be God and God more or less says okay, you’re on. So Satan is actively ruining lives, causing people to suffer. He mimics Jesus or sends in spirits to deceive and manipulate, false profits to lead you astray, more satisfying sounding religions. He offers us our hearts desires in return for worship but slowly drags us into the pits and torments us or reminds us that we are condemned. He will convince us that we are gods and goddesses, deceive us into worshiping ourselves. He convinces us that we need to remove our ego, but takes us down the road of nothing but ego inflation. We start feeling that we are perfection and that sin does not exist. He gets us hooked on drugs and porn and sins that separate us from God. He will do ANYTHING he can to separate us from God, relentlessly. He shows us how much fun sin is, and we become slaves to it. God will ALWAYS intervene, but we won’t always hear him. We choose not to, we choose sin over our Creator.
God is literally working in every single one of our lives, trying to open our eyes and ears. But we are in rebellion. We choose not to understand. We turn away in disgust from Christianity because we want to keep our sinning and never feel like we have to ask anyone permission or forgiveness. We dont want to follow someone else’s modest plan for our lives, we want our own because we dont think God is good enough for us. We dont want to face the hardest truth there is and face our sins and own condemnation. THIS IS THE WAY EVERYONE WORKS AT ONE POINT OR ANOTHER. Sometimes is consciously for most it’s a subconscious thing. I happened to be more aware of it than others for a reason, I can articulate these things better than others have been able to. It’s both a blessing and a curse because so many people won’t hear me, because they dont want to. I have to live my life knowing and accepting that I alone cannot save everyone, and there is nothing more I desire than that and a permanent relationship with Jesus Christ. He truly is my best friend.
We understand and accept that there are peoples opinions. We understand that there are different world views. We understand that you think we are insane…. But what you fail to understand is that none of these factor change what is true. There is an absolute truth, and if you ask God, sincerely, what that is, he WILL answer. As far as a flat earth goes, I dont think that is true, personally. The Bible mentions, I think several times that the earth is a globe, round, circular, etc. Somethings in there are very much a metaphor, but not everything. What God called Earth is the ground above the water, and yes, there are considerable corners of that ground. Pillars could represent specific things such as the foundation on which we were built, that’s not to assume literal pillars, as if the Earth were on stilts. Could it be true? Yeah, it could. Bob’s theory could absolutely be true, but the evidence for it seems relatively weak based on both observational evidence as well as biblical grounds.
As for a young Earth, there is no doubt in my mind, esp after finding Noah’s Ark, that the Bible is 100% authentic truth and the foundation for us to live by. The evidence to back it up is astounding. Esp after understanding that carbond dating is only in theory and extraordinarily untrustworthy. As is most of not all historical science is. The only science we can trust is observational, non theoretical science. And even then, we have a tendency to cross boundaries of playing God.
Honestly, it’s worth doing your own research on, and I can guarantee you too will become a believer if you really look for an absolute answer. Ask God the question, who am I and where did I come from? And wait for him to answer. You might be surprised, but you won’t like the answer if you arent already a Christian.
Nothing feels better than finding Jesus and accepting the Holy Spirit into your life. Into your heart, to live in there and become a part of who you are. To find your identity in Christ, and be refined and restored. It is overwhelming joy and prosperity. It is peace and love and tranquility in the purest form that we as sinful humans can experience. The best part, is we get to experience it for an eternity. Arent you the least bit curious? I know I wondered and I am enjoying my answer.
