Precisely. But I have faith in the new generations to do differently. Perhaps if our social structures and especially education, focussed on the “What are’s” instead of the “musts” and “shoulds” the greatest amongst us will be glorious. I can be graceful about my thoughts however naive they might be. Have to start somewhere.
This discussion reminds of the King of Bhutan and how his subjects adore him. I’m not sure if it’s propaganda or truth, but apparently Bhutan measures it’s GDP in happiness factor and ranks number 1 in the world.
Mongolia, Tajikistan and Iran would be on my bucket list for travel. (I think).
