DIY Medicine Ball
This is a deceptively simple method for making a medicine ball. What you will need:
A playground ball, get the kind that has the crosshatch pattern, this is made of a more durable plastic.
Needle nose plyers or something similar(I used a loom needle)[plyers will be needed to reinsert the ball plug]
Small funnel or condiment container(pictured), I had to get the condiment container because the I couldn’t find a small funnel, and the people at Wal-Mart had no clue what I was talking about. The bottle was found in the kitchen supplies
Bag of sand(can be found at anyplace that sells sand boxes). These usually cost between $3–4 for a 50lb bag.
How to make it:
>Remove the plug from the ball using needle nose plyers
>Using the condiment container(or small funnel) fill the ball with the desired amount of sand[I filled mine about half way and it weighs approximately 10lbs]. If you use the condiment container be sure to cut the tip at an angle to help the sand flow out better.
>Reinsert the needle(hardest part of the project, you may need help holding the plyers). This was the hardest part for me.
>Inflate the ball to the recommended pressure
This project is extremely easy to make and cost me a total of $10($4 for the ball; $4 for the sand; $1 for the condiment container). This thing can be used for all medicine ball exercises and is bombable(can be slammed really really hard).
