Shelter

I had a very sheltered childhood
I was dry against the rain
And warm against the wind
And it was ok because
I had my toys there.

I had a very sheltered teenagehood.
I was dry against the rain,
And warm against the wind.
But I longed to see the rainbow,
And I longed to feel the breeze.

I had a very sheltered young-adulthood.
I was dry against the rain
And warm against the wind.
But I ached to touch the droplets,
And I ached to hear the gust.

Now my shelter is broken.

And I have no idea how to protect myself.
