About Instamojo

Instamojo was founded by Sampad Swain in 2012 with an idea of helping individuals help sell their creative content directly to mass market. It started as a platform to sell digital products like e-books, music, software as downloads by sharing a link.

Now, Instamojo.com has become a digital payments platform bundled with tons of e-commerce features to enable any business or individual to sell, manage & grow online securely, effortlessly and cost-effectively.

Product Road Map

Roadmap in Initial Stage (2014):

In the initial days Instamojo used to enable individuals, freelancers, home-prenuers, SOHO businesses to sell & collect payments for digital goods, directly from customers by sharing a payment link.

Hence, it is safe to assume that the product roadmap would include only those things which could help facilitate and improvise the core flow — An individual seller discovers Instamojo, makes an account, hosts his creative content, sets a price, shares the link directly with his customer base (or potential target market), buyers are able to check the product and seller’s profile, buyer’s are able to make payment, buyer’s get the digital goods post-payment, seller gets the money, invoices and settlement are done.

With GST taking effects, Instamojo should seamlessy integrate necessary changes to its platforms so that customers and sellers are not having any difficulties accessing its platforms.

Also, Instamojo already have an excellent platform and business line. With the huge data that’s getting generated on the platform, Instamojo can now start looking through an aggregator, convener, servant leader type of business offerings etc. This will enable SMEs to focus on their core offerings and in turn enable the SMEs to bring out the best for their own clients.

And lastly, with iOS app, Instamojo can target folks who are using the iOS platform for business and buying needs.

As you can see from the Product Roadmaps, Instamojo has incrementally build features to empower millions of users to sell online on multiple channels and grow their business. It is worth noting how each feature, which are added to Instamojo’s platform, was making seller’s life easier and how each release was opening the market for more products to be sold via Instamojo. Starting from the basic features to proper payment gateway solution, Instamojo has a long way to go.
